In a recent game, Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant broke a special edition of his Ja 2.  Inspired by a recent trip to the Memphis Zoo and the giraffe named after Morant by the facility, they sport a giraffe-styled print throughout the upper.  The lateral sides are adorned with black-bordered Swooshes, while smaller black embroidered branding appears on the medial sides. PE Corner: Anthony Davis wears another Lakers LeBron XXII PE

This LeBron XXII, which was seen on the feet of Anthony Davis, sports a vibrant yellow patent leather upper with the lateral Swoosh transitioning from yellow to purple at the junction with the midsole. The same coloration also wraps the heel and extends onto the medial side. A yellow LeBron signature is present at the rear heel, with LeBron branding on the tongue.  The midsole that sits below the aforementioned upper sports a golden Swoosh and features coloration of the previously referenced hue-changing branding. PE Corner: Oregon hoops debuted “Think Pink” Kobe IX EM

The University of Oregon women’s basketball team played their Stomp Out Cancer game this weekend. In the game, a 54-47 win over Indiana, the Ducks broke out the “Think Pink” Kobe IX Low.  They sport a pink engineered mesh upper adorned on the sides with white Swooshes. Since the news broke of their return several months ago, scores of sneaker enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating the release.of the “Black Red” Air Jordan I High ‘85. Second half surge powers Tennessee State to third straight win

After being down at the half, the Tennessee State basketball team picked it up in the second half, outscoring Tennessee Tech 49-30 on the second half to claim victory, 89-77.  Tennessee State jumped out to an early 13-4 lead and continued to show the way for the lion’s share of the half. Tennessee Tech took their first lead of the night at 32-30 on Ray Glascow’s shot from downtown with 6:28 left in the opening half. Norfolk State’s Larry Vickers named to the Midseason Midseason Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Watchlist

image via Matt Patterson Norfolk State women’s basketball coach Larry Vickers was named to the Midseason Midseason Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Watchlist earlier this week.  Vickers is in his 10th season and has recorded a 163-98 record. Coach Vickers’ Lady Spartans ball club is currently 17-4, including wins over Missouri and Auburn. Tennessee State women’s hoops fall to Tennessee Tech, 71-64

image via Tennessee State Athletics A rocky third quarter ended up being the Lady Tigers’ undoing as they fell 71-64 to Tennessee Tech.  After the game was tied early at 6 and 8 apiece, a 6-0 Tennessee State burst gave them a 14-8 lead with 2:59 left in the period. Knute Wood canned a three-pointer with 15 ticks left in overtime to propel Tennessee State to an 81-80 win over UT Martin Tuesday night. After Ronald Jessamy’s layup tied the game at 10, TSU was to show the way before Vladimir Salaridze’s layup knotted the game back at 16.
