Albany State sweeps Tuskegee

Courtesy Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State University Athletics The Golden Rams improved to 15-7 (14-3 in the SIAC) after sweeping the Tuskegee University Tigers.  The Tigers are now 10-11 (8-6 in the SIAC).    The Golden Rams defeated the Tigers 20-12 in the final game of the series.  Lavoisier Fisher, Lachlan Rossand Nathan Lloyd were the players of the game.  Fisher went 3-3 at the plate for the Golden Rams.  Fisher scored 3 runs and had 1 RBI.  Ross went 1-3 at the plate.  Ross hit a home run, scored 2 runs and had 6 RBIs. …

Albany State spanks Tuskegee in first two games of series

Albany State baseball got off to a smashing good start in their three-game series with the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University, handing out a pair of beatdowns to the tune of 10-3 and 20-8, respectively. In game 1 the Golden Rams bats got right to work scoring three runs in the top of the first inning, the first coming on a Lavoisier Fisher solo blast to left field. The SIAC Round-Up concluded today with the Albany State women’s tennis team going 4-3 over the course of the three-day event. Day 1 Albany State was dominant in a 7-0 victory over Fort Valley State. The Golden Rams’ fortune turned in Game 2, losing to Clark-Atlanta, 4-1. In Game 3 Albany State defeated Spring Hill College, 4-3. February 19, 2022 was truly a monumental day for HBCU sports. Cleveland, which is in the midst of hosting NBA All-Star weekend also was the setting for the inaugural HBCU Classic, which featured a matchup between MEAC schools Howard and Morgan State aired on NBA TV. It was tightly contested affiar that Howard pulled out 68-66. Albany State begins three-game tilt with Golden Tigers today

This weekend the Albany State baseball team ,12-7 (11-3 in the SIAC), will commence a three-game series on Montgomery, Alabama against the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee University, 10-8 (8-3 in the SIAC). This will be the first time the two teams have played in nearly six years, April 27, 2016 to be exact. Tuskegee was victorious, winning 7-5. Malik Bell is leading the Golden Rams with a .455 batting average. From Tennessee State University Athletics Tennessee State University football second-year head coach Eddie George has officially released the 2022 football schedule as his Tigers will play five home games, the first under George’s leadership.
