Albany State baseball prepares for last road trip of season

The Albany State baseball team is heading to Jacksonville, Florida for a weekend three-game series against the Tigers of Edward waters College. The Golden Rams (25-11, 24-5 SIAC) are coming into a game fresh off being knocked around 19-9 by Georgia Southwestern at home on Tuesday, while Edward Waters ( 23-22 , 9-12 SIAC) enters the series fresh off a three-game sweep of Benedict last week . The series commences Thursday, April 28, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:00 p.m. EST.

Golden Rams add Charlie Skalaski IV to coaching staff

From Albany State Athletics Charlie Skalaski (Skuh-LA-Skee) IV enters his first season at Albany State after being hired to serve as the Passing Game Coordinator, Quarterbacks Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Skalaski joins the Golden Rams with fourteen seasons of coaching experience, including four at the high school level, and ten years at the college level. In those seasons, Skalaski has been a part of one State Championship, five conference championships, two trips to the Division I FCS playoffs and one NCFA National Championship. Albany State Athletic Department has NCAA probation lifted

Tuesday morning Albany State University announced that the NCAA had removed the school’s athletic probation from probation status. As reported by WALB, back in 2016 Albany State began an internal audit of its athletic program. Following that the University self-reported potential issues to the geniuses at the NCAA.
