The Albany State Baseball team went 32-16 ( 28-7, SIAC), but came up short in the conference championship game, falling 8-7 to Spring Hill. The Goden Rams were tapped to participate in the Black College World Series in Montgomery. Coppin State, who claimed victory in the MEAC Baseball Tournament , after besting Delaware State 18-12, has found out their opponent in their first round opponent in the NCAA Baseball Championship. The Eagles, (24-28) will make their NCAA Tournament debut against the Pirates of East Carolina University (42-18) in the Greenville Regional. The Pirates, defeated the Cougars of the University of Houston 6-1 to capture the American Athletic Conference (AAC) championship. From the SIAC:  The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its 2022 baseball all-conference awards, as voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information directors. Savannah State’s Joe Smith headlines the all-conference team after being selected as the 2022 SIAC Player of the Year alongside Miles’ Kody Long who was named 2022 Starting Pitcher of the Year. Spring Hill’s Michael Romano earned this year’s Relief Pitcher of the Year honor.  Miles’ Michael Archie was selected as the 2022 SIAC Freshman of the Year alongside, Benedict’s Bradon O’Connor, who was named Utility Player of the Year.
