Tuskegee completes road trip with two conference games

Courtesy of Tuskegee Athletics TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee men’s basketball will look to continue their winning ways with a pair of road Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponents in Kentucky State on Saturday before taking on Central State on Monday afternoon. The Golden Tigers (11-4, 6-2 SIAC) have played well so far, going 5-2 in non-conference play, while winning their last four games, all against SIAC opponents. Tennessee State offensive lineman Robert Lacey has accepted an invitation to participated in the 2023 HBCU Legacy Bowl. Lacey earned 2022 Preseason All-OVC honours and made the 2023 Senior Bowl Watchlist , as he helped open up holes for a TSU offense that featured two backs in Jalen Rouse and Devon Starling that each ran for over 500 yards and averaged at least 4.7 yards per carry. Tennessee State wide receiver JJ Holloman has accepted an invitation to take part in this year’s HBCU Legacy Bowl, according to a tweet from the game Friday afternoon. The Covington, Georgia native caught 33 passes for 353 yards and 1 touchdown in his lone season at Tennessee State. Prior to that , Holloman spent his first two collegiate seasons, 2017 and 2018, at the University of Georgia, being recruited as the #15 -ranked wide receiver in the nation. Ed Reed to become Bethune-Cookman’s next head coach

Bethune-Cookman has reached an agreement in principle to make NFL Hall of Fame player Ed Reed the University’s 16th head football coach. The University made the announcement Tuesday evening. Southern University sophomore tight end Ethan Howard announced he was entering the transfer portal. The Cecilia High School ( Breaux Bridge, LA) product informed the world of his decision Monday in post to his Twitter account. Last season Howard was Southern’s second-leading leading receiver, hailing in 29 passes for 351 yards and four touchdowns. This past season, for unknown reasons, he only appeared in one contest, the October 22 matchup against Virginia Lynchburg.
