Tennessee State head coach Eddie George has led the Tigers to a 4-2 record after their 24-17 Homecoming win over Norfolk State on Saturday. Tennessee State’s Lowery named Big South-OVC Special Teams Player of the Week

Tennessee State kicker James Lowery was named Co-Big South-OVC Special Teams Player of the Week. In the Tigers 27-20 win over Kennesaw State on Saturday, the junior kicker belted a career-long 51 yard kick and also connected from 41-yards, extending his streak of consecutive kicks to five, all of which have come from at least 40-yards. Lowery was also 3-3 on extra points on the afternoon. This was the second time on the season Lowery has earned all-Conference honors.

Behind a strong defensive effort,  The Tennessee State Tigers went on the road and picked up a win against the Owls of Kennesaw State, 27-20.  The Tigers struck first, scoring on a 51-yard field goal off the foot of James Lowery to take a 3-0 lead early in the first quarter.
