Albany State Softball takes Eastern Division crown

Via Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State Athletics The Golden Rams softball team won two out of three games against the Benedict College Tigers in their final series of the regular season.  As a result, the Golden Rams finish #1 in the Eastern Division of the SIAC.  The Golden Rams improved to 32-7 (16-3 in the SIAC) while the Tigers are 27-17 (11-7 in the SIAC).   In game 1, the Tigers defeated the Golden Rams 12-4.  The Tigers jumped out to a (3-0) lead after the 1st inning.  But, McLeod homered in…

The Albany State softball team ( 30-6, 14-2 SIAC) heads to Columbia, SC for their last road trip of the regular season, as they will take on the Tigers of Benedict (26-15, 10-5, SIAC) in a three-game set over the weekend. In their series with Allen University, the Albany State offense has been quite lively, generating 23 runs through the first two games. Albany State softball extended their win streak to 13 after a dominating sweep of Allen University, winning the games by a combined 23-0 ( 12-0 in Game 1 and 11-0 in Game 2).
