FAMU’s Dominique Washington earns AVCA SE All-American Honorable Mention

For the second consecutive season, Florida A&M volleyball standout Dominique Washington was named to the AVCA Southeast Region All-American Honourable Mention list. The only HBCU player to garner such honour in any region, Washington had an outstanding season finishing the campaign with 425 kills (65th in the nation, 1st in SWAC)and 481.5 points (71st in the nation, 1st in SWAC). She also was named SWAC Player of the Year, 1st Team All-SWAC, SWAC Tournament MVP, and All-SWAC Tournament Team for the second consecutive season.  The full list can be found here.

Brittney Griner’s time in Chinese captivity has finally come to an end. The basketball star has been in Russian custody since February, when a small amount of cannibis oil was found in her luggage. Deion Sanders had his introductory press conference today and he announced that his son Shadeur would play for the Buffaloes. The younger Sanders accompanied his father to Boulder shortly after Jackson State’s 43-24 victory to claim their second consecutive SWAC Championship.
