Nike recently announced that it had signed a second substantial contract with Avangrid Renewables. The agreement is for 86 megawatts of power over the life of the deal, which is enough energy to power 400,000 average American households with carbon-free energy or the emissions reduction equivalent of removing approximately 800,000 vehicles off the road for a year. This agreement enables us to source 100 percent renewable energy across our owned or operated facilities in North America. Reminiscent of the “Scarface” Air Force 1 of 2006, the upcoming “Split” Air Force 1 continues the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the iconic creation of Bruce Kilgore. As implied by its moniker, the upper of the shoe is split into black and white sides.
