7.Grambling State Tigers (7-4, 4-3)  The Tigers of Grambling State University remain at 7 in this week’s rankings. In their most recent outing, the Tigers were defeated by Alcorn State 27-16. Aided greatly by the Alcorn defense, the Grambling offense was never able to find its footing, held to just 142 yards through the air and just 99 on the ground. SWAC announces implications from Grambling/Bethune-Cookman fight

Monday afternoon, the Southwestern Athletic Conference announced the consequences stemming from the unfortunate incident that took place during the Grambling State/Bethune-Cookman game on November 8.  SWAC Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland had this to say:  “We’re extremely disappointed by the events that transpired during halftime of the Bethune-Cookman at Grambling State football game. Acts of that nature have zero place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference and intercollegiate athletics. Jackson State’s Jacobian Morgan named HBCU National Player of the Week

Image via Jackson State Athletics For his gridiron exploits this weekend, Jackson State quarterback Jacobian Morgan was named the BOXTOROW National HBCU Player of the Week.  In the Tigers’ 38-13 win over Southern in the BoomBox Classic, the grad student had his most statistically prolific game of the year. Morgan completed 21 of 31 passes for 337 yards, 2 touchdowns, of 51 and 82 yards respectively, and no interceptions.  This season the Syracuse transfer has completed 50-of-88 passes for 615 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an interception.  Morgan will be highlighted on…
