SWAC Announces 2025 Football Postseason honorees

The Southwestern Athletic Conference unveiled its 2025 Football Postseason Awards Monday afternoon. The honors are determined by voting from the conference’s head football coaches and sports information directors (SIDs) Like the NBA, the SWAC has a minimum participation rate to be considered for postseason recognition. Alabama State pulls away from Tuskegee 58-21 in Turkey Day Classic

Image via DJ Pearson Tuskegee made it a game early on Alabama, but Alabama State would eventually seize control and cruise to a 58-21 win in the Turkey Day Classic.  The Golden Tigers struck first when quarterback Michael Franklin connected on a 67-yard strike with Devon Cooper on the fourth play of the game to put Tuskegee up 7-0 just 105 seconds into the contest.  The Hornets answered back on the next possession with a quick strike score of their own. 7.Grambling State Tigers (7-4, 4-3)  The Tigers of Grambling State University remain at 7 in this week’s rankings. In their most recent outing, the Tigers were defeated by Alcorn State 27-16. Monday afternoon, the Southwestern Athletic Conference announced the consequences stemming from the unfortunate incident that took place during the Grambling State/Bethune-Cookman game on November 8.  SWAC Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland had this to say:  “We’re extremely disappointed by the events that transpired during halftime of the Bethune-Cookman at Grambling State football game. Jackson State’s Jacobian Morgan named HBCU National Player of the Week

Image via Jackson State Athletics For his gridiron exploits this weekend, Jackson State quarterback Jacobian Morgan was named the BOXTOROW National HBCU Player of the Week.  In the Tigers’ 38-13 win over Southern in the BoomBox Classic, the grad student had his most statistically prolific game of the year. Morgan completed 21 of 31 passes for 337 yards, 2 touchdowns, of 51 and 82 yards respectively, and no interceptions.  This season the Syracuse transfer has completed 50-of-88 passes for 615 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an interception.  Morgan will be highlighted on…
