Albany State’s Stephan Pierre and James Hawkins to play in HBCU Legacy Bowl

Albany State linebacker Stephan Pierre and defensive back James Hawkins were selected to play in the 2023 HBCU Legacy Bowl. After winning the SIAC MVP and Defensive Player of the Year last season, Pierre followed that up with SIAC All-Conference First Team season. The Tallahassee, Florida product recorded 84 total tackles ( 58 solo), 9 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and a 1 fumble recovery. Courtesy of Albany State Athletics In 2022, Albany State Softball had a tremendous season as they finished with a (35-9) overall record as well as the SIAC Eastern Division Champions.   According to the Black Sports Network, the Golden Rams finished with the most wins of any HBCU on any level in the country. The Golden Rams feature several players that received accolades from the 2022 season.  Madison Hurt finished as the number #7 leading hitter in the country with a batting average of .467.  Morgan Brown was named SIAC Freshman of the year. …
