PE Corner: Tyrese Haliburton rocks “TEAM USA” Kobe X Low

These Kobe X Lows were spotted on the feet of US Olympic Basketball team member and Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburrton. They sport a team USA-inspired graphic that completely canvasses the entirety of its upper. Silver Swooshes adorn the lateral and medial sides, while a white Kobe signature is perched atop the navy tongue.  Underneath the aforementioned upper resides a white midsole and a translucent gun rubber outsole.  At this time, there is no indication of a planned retail release and that is unfortunate.  images via basketpackfr

Grambling’s Myles Crawley named SWAC Preseason Offensive Player of The Year

Courtesy of Curtis Ford, Grambling Athletics Grambling State University quarterback Myles Crawley was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Preseason Player of the Year, announced by the conference on Tuesday morning. Crawley solidified himself as one of the best up and coming quarterbacks in the SWAC during the 2023 campaign. Crawley threw for 2,303 yards with a 16 touchdowns last season. He was the first Grambling State quarterback to throw for at least 2,000 yards since Devante Kincaid in 2017. Alabama A&M football to have trio of games streamed on SWAC Digital Network

courtesy The Alabama A&M University football team will have three games streamed on the SWAC Digital Network, the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) announced during media day on Tuesday at the Sheraton-Birmingham Hotel.  Alabama A&M will play its first two home games on Sept. 7 and Sept. 14 against Kentucky State and Georgetown (Ky.), respectively. Although I’m not sure about the performance capabilities as compared to its predecessor, however from an aesthetic standpoint, the AE2 is a step back.  It sports a black TPU upper with only the red AE logo on the tongue offering the only bit of visual variety from the otherwise monochromatic appearance. PE Corner: North Carolina Football unveils PE Air Jordan 3 cleats

North Carolina football unveiled a Player Exclusive edition of an Air Jordan 3 cleat.  Borrowing its aesthetic from the “UNC” Air Jordan 3, they sport a white leather upper with elephant print overlays at the toe and wrapping the heel. University blue shows up on the three midfoot eyelets, Jumpman on the tongue, and likely the branding on the rear heel.  Underneath the aforementioned upper resides a university blue moderator plate.  At this time there is no indication of an impending retail release.  Images via uncfootball

An image of a new colorway for the next signature shoe for Ja Morant, the Ja 2.  The new color sports a magenta leather upper underlaid with a mesh of the same hue. The ribbed side panel is home to a teal Swoosh; reportedly, the Swooshes on the left and right shoe will feature a different hue. Kobe Bryant’s father, Joe “Jellybean” Bryant passes at age 69

Former NBA player Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, the father of Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant, has died. He was 69. An official cause of Bryant’s death was not announced as of Tuesday morning. La Salle University, where Bryant played and coached, said in a statement that Bryant “was a beloved member of the Explorer family and will be dearly missed.” Longtime Philadelphia-area basketball coach Fran Dunphy, who currently is the head coach at La Salle, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Bryant recently suffered a massive stroke.
