Two youngsters are now facing the music for very adult crimes.  Joseph Weatherford, 16 and Dominic Singh, 17 were indicted recently by a Forsyth County (GA) Grand Jury on one count of armed robbery and several counts of drug possession. According to a bill of indictment on January 29 the two, “unlawfully [took] the shoes from the [victim] by use of a Vigilante Air Pistol, a device having the appearance of an offensive weapon.” The incident reports stated the victim knew Weatherford and Singh from school and they “showed up…

According to police, a Hartford, Connecticut man now faces multiple charges after he attempted to steal $265 worth of Nike basketball shoes from Kohl’s. Around 2 p.m. Monday February 20, police responded to the retailer for a report of a shoplifter. A man, Jorge Bermudez-Martinez, 25, was observed concealing sneakers under his sweatshirt. Darrius Flournoy has become the latest unnecessary casualty of sneaker related violence. The 22-year old was shot by an acquaintance, 20-year-old Ja’Corrie Rogers, over a dispute surrounding shoes the two swapped. Police alleged that at approximately 6:45 p.m., Rogers pulled out a handgun and shot Flournoy multiple times. Neighbors said that at least five shots were heard. According to Bridgeport, Connecticut police, a duo of burglars stole 10 pair of Air Jordan sneakers valued at $3,000. The thieves also caused more than $6,000 in damage when they broke in the front door with a crowbar.  Cameras caught the two men entering the three-story apartment complex carrying empty bags.
