Jackson State 17th in Stats Perform FCS Preseason Top 25 Poll

The Jackson State Tigers sit at no.17 in the Stats Perform FCS Preseason Top 25 rankings. JSU went 12-2, including 8-0 within the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Jackson State ended the season on a 10-game winning streak, which included winning the SWAC Championship and the HBCU national championship in the Celebration Bowl.  The Tigers ended last season ranked 18th in the polls. Prairie View A&M lands three-star running back

Three-star and class of 2026 running back Nicholas Tramble committed to Prairie View. SWAC Reveals 2025 Football TV Lineup on ESPN Platforms

The Southwestern Athletic Conference has unveiled their slate of games that will appear on ESPN’s linear and digital platform for the 2025 football season.  The 14-game docket kicks off with North Carolina taking on Southern in the 2025 Cricket MEAC/SWAC Challenge on Saturday, August 23. SWAC unveils 2025 Football Preseason Honors

As their football media day quickly approaches, the Southwestern Athletic Conference has released its preseason honors.  Jackson State’s Jacobian Morgan was tabbed as the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year. The Syracuse transfer led the Tigers led his team to the SWAC and HBCU National Championships last season and was named Offensive MVP of the Celebration Bowl. SWAC Spring Meeting Concludes: All Teams Opt In on NCAA settlement

The Southwestern Athletic Conference concluded its Annual Spring Meetings last Friday and Saturday.  Most notable of the key topics discussed by SWAC membership administrators was the recent House v. NCAA settlement. The landmark agreement allows for institutions to make direct payments stemming primarily from NIL activities; it also sets aside $2.8 billion to retroactively compensate athletes who competed from 2016-2024. Alabama State wins 2024-25 SWAC Commissioner’s Cup

Courtesy of the Southwestern Athletic Conference The Alabama State University Athletics Department claimed two-of-three Southwestern Athletic Conference 2024-25 all-sports awards winning the James Frank Commissioner’s Cup and the Sadie Magee/Barbara Jacket Award for the third consecutive year. The Jackson State University Athletics Department claimed the C.D. Henry Award to round out the list of institutional winners.
