Courtesy of Jackson State Athletics Jackson State senior defensive back Robert McDaniel was recognized by the East-West Shrine Bowl, being named to the Shrine Bowl 1000. The list recognizes the top 1,000 seniors heading into the 2024 season. McDaniel, a transfer from Alcorn State, totaled 30 tackles for the Braves as a defensive back in 2023 with 21 solo stops. He also recorded a pair of tackles for loss. McDaniel accounted for six turnovers last season causing three fumbles and was among the league leaders with three interceptions. Clippers trade Rusell Westbrook to Jazz, expected to end up in Denver

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Russell Westbrook has been traded to the Utah Jazz (again). The Jazz are expected to buy Westbrook out, paving the way for the former MVP to join the Denver Nuggets.  TNT Sports’ Chris Haynes reported Kris Dunn will agree to a 3-year, $4 million deal with the Clippers. Courtesy of Jackson State Athletics The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) released the 2024 Preseason Football Teams on Tuesday morning as part of Media Day activities and Jackson State placed five players on the two teams combined. Evan Henry returns as a First Team selection after earning Second Team honors last season after helping the offense average 161.6 yards per game running 227.7 yards passing. SIAC Hall of Famer and Super Bowl Champ Jacoby Jones passes away at just 40

The day before his fortieth birthday on July 11, Jones joined the SIAC in Atlanta to celebrate his induction into the SIAC Hall of Fame. Jones was a pivotal part of the Lane College football team from 2003 to 2006, where he was named offensive player of the year, special teams player of the year and all-conference. This trainer was designed by Nike for Lebron James to wear during his workouts.  These sport a white leather upper. The navy tongue is integrated into the upper and features red branding at the tab that’s perched at its apex. Courtesy of Kari Anderson, Yahoo Sports Former NFL wide receiver Jacoby Jones, a Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion with the Baltimore Ravens, died overnight on Saturday in his Houston-area home, according to multiple reports. Jones, who celebrated his birthday on July 11, had just turned 40. A cause of death is not immediately clear. Jones played in the NFL for nine season, spending his first five with the Houston Texans before signing with the Ravens in 2012. Jones had a standout season in his first in Baltimore, being named…
