Albany State softball takes a pair of loses at Georgia Southwestern

Courtesy of Dr. Earnest Brown, Albany State Athletics The Golden Rams 3-game winning streak was snapped by the Georgia Southwestern University Hurricanes on Tuesday evening in Americus, Georgia.  With the loses, the Golden Rams fell to (21-13) overall.  The Hurricanes improved to (32-15).  In game 1, the Golden Rams were defeated (9-1) by the Hurricanes.  In the top of the 3rd inning, Keyatta Ayers hit a single to right field to score Ty’janae Brown.  The Golden Rams would maintain a (1-0) lead until the bottom of the 5th inning when the Hurricanes exploded for…

Courtesy of the SIAC Mark Chigaazira of Benedict has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Men’s Tennis Player of the Year and headlines the 2023 All-SIAC Team, announced by the league on Saturday.  Gregory Green of Tuskegee was named 2023 SIAC Coach of the Year. The honors were determined by votes from the league’s head coaches and sports information directors. Albany State baseball boat raced by Auburn University at Montgomery, 13-3

It was a tough day on the diamond for Albany State baseball, as they took a 13-3 donkey-kicking from the Warhawks of Auburn University Wednesday night at the AUM Baseball Complex in Montgomery, Alabama. The Golden Rams found themselves in a 6-0 hole after just one inning of play in a frame that saw them give up the first run of the game before the Warhawks got their first hit of the night, as four of the first AUM batters reached base via walks.
