SIAC News: Anthony Hollman named new commissioner

Courtesy of the SIAC: The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Council of Presidents announced today that Anthony Hollman has been named the 11th Commissioner of the SIAC. He will start on September 1, 2022, succeeding Commissioner Gregory Moore, who will officially step down following 13 years of service to the conference.  Holloman is the Vice President for University Advancement/Athletics and executive director for the Fort Valley State University Foundation since 2018. Up close with the CAU x Nike Dunk Low

Earlier this month, images of a Clark-Atlanta University Nike Dunk Low , which along with a FAMU and NC A&T pairs , emerged. More detailed images of the CAU dunks that reveal that the pair is actually mismatched, with the grey and black color blocking reversed on each shoe, making them much more visually interesting. To kick off 2022 SIAC Media Day the conference announced preseason football honors and Albany State quarterback Dionte Bonneau was tabbed Offensive Player of the Year. SIAC announces 2021-22 All-Academic honourees

From the SIAC: A record high, 1,474 student-athletes, was named to the 2021-22 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Commissioner’s All-Academic Team for maintaining at least a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average throughout the 2021-22 academic year. Student-athletes with a 3.2 or higher were considered for all-academic team honors. The number of student-athletes selected in each sport is determined by the number of positions usually involved in that sport. Fifty-one students from 13 institutions recorded a 4.0 grade point average. Benedict College and Kentucky State University led all institutions in this year’s…

The SIAC’s Clark Atlanta University and Nike Sportswear have joined forces on this collaborative Dunk Low. This Dunk Low utilizes a white, black and red color palette, which are the school’s colors.
