Adidas facing lawsuit from Art Basel

During last year’s Art Basel event in Miami, Adidas gave away 1,000 pair of limited edition “Art Basel” EQT ADV sneakers. The high end art fest was not pleased and Tuesday filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, case MCH Swiss Exhibition (Basel) Ltd., V. Adidas America, Inc. and Adidas AG, 1:17-cv-22002-DPG (FLSD), citing “willful distribution of at least 1,000 pairs of sneakers bearing an unauthorized reproduction of Plantiffs’ registered and incontestable ART BASEL trademark. ‘ The suit also alleges claims of Federal trademark…

70,000 pair of Counterfeit Kicks Seized in Thailand

As reported by the Bangkok Post, Customs officials in Thailand seized counterfeit shoes worth at least an estimated 100 million baht (2856326.93 USD) during a raid in the Muang district of Samut Prakan in Thailand.  According to Customs Department director-general Kulit Sombatsiri, the building was used as a warehouse to store 70,000 pair of sneakers, which included “Nikes”, “Adidas”, “Converse”, and “Onitsuka Tiger”.  No one was in the building during the execution of the raid.  The media was shown all of the shoes Friday, prior to being turned over to…

The 19-year old Jacksonville, Florida teen was accused of robbing a Facebook sneaker seller at gunpoint of a pair of Air Jordans. Thousands of Pair of Counterfeit Sneakers discovered by South African Customs

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) seized counterfeit sneakers at the Lebombo Border Post.  Suspicions were aroused when a truck driver refused to stop at the port checkpoint on Monday. Police then chased the truck; the driver fled the scene outside the port area. Adidas and Parley to make shoes from recycled plastic

                  For over a year, Adidas has been hinting at a release of a shoe composed nearly entirely of plastic trash that was removed from the seas. In June of 2015, an initial prototype, which was created in a joint effort with the environmental organization Parley for the Oceans, was unveiled.
