Jackson State moved up a pair of spots to No. 15 in the Stats Perform FCS top 25 poll rankings. Jackson State Ahmad Miller named Co-National HBCU Player of the Week

Jackson State running back Ahmed Miller was named the Co-national HBCU Player of the Week. In the Tiger season opening win against Hampton Miller recorded 180 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 12 carries. One of those scores, a 2-yard touchdown run with five minutes and 32 seconds remaining in the game put Jackson State up 21 to 14, a lead that Jackson State would not relinquish. Tennessee State’s Rhymes named Co-National HBCU Player of the Week

Tennessee State University running back Kendric Rhymes was named BOXTOROW Co-national HBCU Player of the Week. In the Tigers’ 24-21 win over the Aggies of North Carolina AT&T in the John A. Merritt classic, the Southern University transfer rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries.  The first of those touchdowns, a 60-yard scamper in the third quarter, pushed Tennessee State back out in front 17-14. Courtesy of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference September 1, 2025 –Delaware State running back Marquis Gillis was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week. Hornet teammate Quentin Johnson earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Morgan State running back Randall Nauden was named Rookie of the Week. Morgan State’s Jerrod Burrell and Howard’s Matt Conord earned Offensive Lineman and Specialist of the Week honors, respectively.
