Kobe A.D. “BHM” Now Available

The Kobe A.D is the latest addition to the collection of footwear Nike has released to commemorate and celebrate Black History Month ( and to a lesser extent, the NBA all star weekend). Like the other shoes in the collection, the AD makes use of a white black and gold color scheme, with a graphic patterned white up front, black wrapping up around the heel and gold branding rounding out this sneaker’s aesthetic. The “BHM” Kobe A.D. is currently available on NIKEiD for $160 USD.

70,000 pair of Counterfeit Kicks Seized in Thailand

As reported by the Bangkok Post, Customs officials in Thailand seized counterfeit shoes worth at least an estimated 100 million baht (2856326.93 USD) during a raid in the Muang district of Samut Prakan in Thailand. According to Customs Department director-general Kulit Sombatsiri, the building was used as a warehouse to store 70,000 pair of sneakers, which included “Nikes”, “Adidas”, “Converse”, and “Onitsuka Tiger”. The 19-year old Jacksonville, Florida teen was accused of robbing a Facebook sneaker seller at gunpoint of a pair of Air Jordans. This latest edition of Kobe Bryant’s first post-retirement signature shoe features a navy upper, with white Swoosh branding on both lateral and medial sides and the tongue Shozuku logo. Red is the color of choice for the DNA-esque snake logo on the heel. A white midsole and outsole make up the rest of this look. This colorways of the KOBE A.D. will be available February 25, 2016. With their 88-48 thrashing of SMU Saturday, the UCONN women’s basketball team posted their 91st consecutive win, which is now the longest such streak in NCAA basketball history. To panegyrize this momentous accomplishment, Nike presented each member of the team with a special pack. This pack included the Kyrie 3 “Grey” colorway and a shirt saluting the 91 straight victories.
