With less than two minutes to go, Howard freshman sensation quarterback Caylin Newton engineered a 9-play, 45-yard drive that was culminated in Newton himself scoring the go-ahead score on a 5-yard TD tun, putting the Bison up for good 26-24. Tennessee State falls at UT Martin, 31-16

Tennessee State fell behind 24-0 to #24 UT Martin and it ultimately proved to be a hole too great for the tigers to climb out of as TSU suffered their first loss of the season, 31-16. It was a tough day at the office for the Albany State Golden Rams. ASU was on the wrong side of a 48-16 beatdown courtesy of West Georgia University. Albany State claims victory in 4th White Water Classic

For the Golden Rams of Albany State University, the defense lead the way to their first victory over Tuskegee University in seven years. The Rams' defense held the Golden Tigers' offense to two first downs (you read that correctly, 2 first downs) on the day. The Tuskegee offense only managed 27 plays, had possession of the football for just 16:04 and only tallied a paltry 119 yards of total offense.
