Dolphins lose 2023 first-round draft pick, fines owner Stephen Ross $1.5 m over tampering with Sean Payton and Tom Brady

From ESPN: The NFL has stripped the Miami Dolphins of two draft picks, including their 2023 first-round selection, and suspended owner Stephen Ross and fined him $1.5 million after an investigation into alleged violations of league policies related to the integrity of the game. In addition to the first-round pick, the Dolphins also will forfeit their 2024 third-round selection. France will not include players or coaches signed to Russian or Belarusian teams on its national teams

France’s basketball federation has announced that any players or coaches who are have ties to clubs in Russia or Belarus will not be considered for participation for upcoming international competitions during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This mandate will also extend to the next summer Olympics, which are set to take place in Paris. This decision has impacted the selections to the EuroBasket team, a Livio Jean-Charles and Louis Labeyerie, who recently signed to CSKA and UNICS respectively, were not called up to the senior national team. Courtesy of the SIAC: The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Council of Presidents announced today that Anthony Hollman has been named the 11th Commissioner of the SIAC. Fenerbahce announced the signing of Carsen Edwards. The Purdue product was taken 33rd overall by the Philadelphia 76ers was soon traded to the Boston Celtics, where he spent time with the main club and the Maine Red Claws. Celtics legend and 11-time NBA Champion Bill Russell died ‘peacefully’ at the age of 88, his family confirmed Sunday.
