The Albany State Golden Rams ended their season playing in the SIAC championship game, losing to Spring Hill College 8-7. The Albany State Golden Rams also participated in the Black College World Series in Montgomery, AL. The Albany State women’s basketball team got it done against Edward Waters, defeating the Tigers 54-49 Saturday afternoon. The two teams came out of the gate cold in the first quarter, shooting a combined 7-29 , 4-15 for ASU and 3-14 for EWC, in an opening period that saw a combined 16 points, with the Golden Rams managing to secure a 10-6 lead after the opening frame. Albany State was unable to hold off a second half surge from Miles as the Golden Rams fell to the Golden Bears 62-59. MIles came out strong, taking an early 7-0 lead , Albany State woudl battle back to take a brief lead at 12-11 on a Terin Wofford jumpshot. It wasn’t always pretty, but the The Albany State women’s basketball managed to secure a win over Miles College Monday afternoon, 49-41. In a game in which the teams combined for 45 turnovers, the Golden Rams were able to avoid a few of the mistakes that ultimately befell their Golden Bear opponents.
