Although I’m not sure about the performance capabilities as compared to its predecessor, however from an aesthetic standpoint, the AE2 is a step back.  It sports a black TPU upper with only the red AE logo on the tongue offering the only bit of visual variety from the otherwise monochromatic appearance. The same AE logo appears on the tongue, while black appears at the rubber outsole, rounding out the single-hued look.  More information to come on these as it avails itself.  images via allinlivee

PE Corner: North Carolina Football unveils PE Air Jordan 3 cleats

North Carolina football unveiled a Player Exclusive edition of an Air Jordan 3 cleat.  Borrowing its aesthetic from the “UNC” Air Jordan 3, they sport a white leather upper with elephant print overlays at the toe and wrapping the heel. University blue shows up on the three midfoot eyelets, Jumpman on the tongue, and likely the branding on the rear heel.  Underneath the aforementioned upper resides a university blue moderator plate.  At this time there is no indication of an impending retail release.  Images via uncfootball

An initial look at this colorway of the Ja 2

An image of a new colorway for the next signature shoe for Ja Morant, the Ja 2.  The new color sports a magenta leather upper underlaid with a mesh of the same hue. The ribbed side panel is home to a teal Swoosh; reportedly, the Swooshes on the left and right shoe will feature a different hue. An effort has been launched to save Talledega Gymnastics and here is how you can help

This weekend, unfortunate news broke that Talladega College would have to discontinue its gymnastics program after just one season due to university financial health concerns. We were told by sources that the team received no prior notice, only finding out the day the decision was announced.  The Tornadoes’ gymnastics was not a mere can upon which to be beaten by every opponent they faced. Coached by first year coach Aja Sims-Fletcher, Talladega was competitive, recording a 6-13 record and even becoming the first HBCU to win an NCAA Team competition…

PE Corner: LeBron James warms up in these trainers

This trainer was designed by Nike for Lebron James to wear during his workouts.  These sport a white leather upper. The navy tongue is integrated into the upper and features red branding at the tab that’s perched at its apex. Navy also shows up rear heel and small Swoosh on the toe box.  On the lateral side, a gold Swoosh has its home on the navy midsole, which sits higher on the lateral side.  A red rubber outsole rounds out the aesthetic.  As it currently stands, there are no plans…

Friday Florida A&M President Dr. Larry Robinson announced in a letter to FAMU Board of Trustees Chair Kristin Harper he will step down from his post.  On behalf of the Board, Chair Harper was very complimentary of Dr. Robinson, stating the following: “Florida A&M University has reached unprecedented heights as a Top 100 University and the No. 1 public HBCU for the fifth consecutive year. Talladega College cuts gymnastics program after just one season

Despite a competitive and historic inaugural  season Talladega Xollege opted to pull the plug on its burgeoning gymnastics program.  The school cited financial constraints would not allow the resources necessary to support the program.  Talladega’s gymnastics team recorded a 6-13 record, however six of the team’s gymnasts –  including Alexa Chuy, Landyn Williams, Kiara Pearl Williams, Alexandra Maldonado, and Jamilia Duffus and Krystin  Johnson. qualified for the USAG Collegiate National Championship.  Kristyn Johnson, who was the first recruit in the program’s history, becoming the first gymnast from an Alabama HBCU to win…

Candice Dupree makes three additions to coaching staff

Comfort joins TSU with extensive experience as both a player and a coach. Most recently, she coached at Cal State Monterey Bay from 2021-2023. Kawhi Leonard withdraws from Team USA, Derrick White to be replacement

Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard has withdrawn from the US Olympic team,  USA Basketball announced Wednesday morning, per The Athletic’’s Shams Charania.  Leonard has been dealing with chronic soreness and inflammation for the past few months. Boston Celtics forward Derrick White has been selected to replace Leonard. Stephen Curry introduced the world to a never-before-seen colorway of what speculated to be his next signature sneaker.  The sneaker wqw spotted in two colorways-a navy navy-based look as well as that of white.
