Tennessee State linebacker James Green was named the OVC-Big South Defensive Player of the Week. The Tennessee State Tigers were able claim victory in the 34th Southern Heritage Classic with a 24-14 win over Arkansas Pine Bluff and Green played a major role in the games’ outcome. With 0:54 left in the game, UAPB set up for a potential game-tying field attempt. Grambling Athletic Department issues statement on Jaquavis Richmond injury

Saturday Grambling was taken to the woodshed 72-10 by LSU, however the outcome was not the most concerining aspect of the evening for the Tigers. Gramblng State linebacker Jaquavis Richmond suffered a frightening injury halfway through the third quarter while making a tackle on LSU wideout Gregory Clayton on a punt return. It appeared that Richmond collided with teammate Chrisitian Williams as they came together to stop Clayton. This upcoming “Cacao Wow” aesthetic is the latest from the Nike Terminator High, the classic silhouette that college basketball helped introduce to the world back in 1985. It sports a white leather upper with cacao wow overlays at the toe and eyerows, with the same hue also present on the Swooshes that adorn the lateral and medial sides. Jackson State QB Jason Brown was named BOXTOROW HBCU National Player of the Week. The Virginia Tech graduate transfer completed 26-30 passes for 365 yards and 3 touchdowns, with no interceptions, in the Tigers 37-7 steamrolling of South Carolina State in the Cricket MEAC-SWAC Challenge.
