The Albany State women’s basketball team defeated tthe Dragons of Lane College 68-57 to advance to the semi-finals of the SIAC women’s basketball tournament From Albany State Athletics. Kashay Hankerson led the Golden Rams with 23 points in 24 minutes off the bench. Starting point guard Kayla Milner contributed with 16 points, 2 assist and 2 steals. It was an up-and-down day for Albany State basketball against Allen University as the Golden Rams split their matchup with the Yellow Jackets. The men’s team were victorious 74-64, while the ASU women came up short in overtime 66-59. Jordan Simpson lead the way for men, putting in 20 points and grabbing 11 boards. The Albany State University Men’s basketball team ( 7-14, 5-7) suffered a tough loss to the Cougars of Columbus State University ( 14-6, 5-5) Monday evening. The Golden Rams were up 36-34 at the end of the first half and would continue to hold the advantage in the second half, pushing the lead to 17 points at 55-38 when Maxwell Harris sank a pair of free throws with 13:46 to go in the contest.
