According to police, a Hartford, Connecticut man now faces multiple charges after he attempted to steal $265 worth of Nike basketball shoes from Kohl’s. Around 2 p.m. Monday February 20, police responded to the retailer for a report of a shoplifter. A man, Jorge Bermudez-Martinez, 25, was observed concealing sneakers under his sweatshirt. According to a police report, he was taken into custody by police as he left the store. 70,000 pair of Counterfeit Kicks Seized in Thailand

As reported by the Bangkok Post, Customs officials in Thailand seized counterfeit shoes worth at least an estimated 100 million baht (2856326.93 USD) during a raid in the Muang district of Samut Prakan in Thailand.  According to Customs Department director-general Kulit Sombatsiri, the building was used as a warehouse to store 70,000 pair of sneakers, which included “Nikes”, “Adidas”, “Converse”, and “Onitsuka Tiger”.  No one was in the building during the execution of the raid.  The media was shown all of the shoes Friday, prior to being turned over to…

The 19-year old Jacksonville, Florida teen was accused of robbing a Facebook sneaker seller at gunpoint of a pair of Air Jordans. Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: Young Man Killed Over Kicks

Darrius Flournoy has become the latest unnecessary casualty of sneaker related violence. The 22-year old was shot by an acquaintance, 20-year-old Ja’Corrie Rogers, over a dispute surrounding shoes the two swapped. Police alleged that at approximately 6:45 p.m., Rogers pulled out a handgun and shot Flournoy multiple times. Neighbors said that at least five shots were heard.   According to poloice in Springfield, MA,a teenage boy was the victim of a robbery Thursday, December 9, 2016, during the sell of a sneaker. Sgt.
